I really like how the modular design makes it easy to assemble and disassemble the key holder in seconds, adding in not only the usual keys, but also extra tools (like Keyport’s knife or 10-in-1 multi-tool, sold separately) that will replace my EDC knife or multi-tool. Weighing in at just 0.7 ounces and just under 3.5 inches long, I’ve found it’s compact enough for any pocket, even if I’m wearing chino pants or joggers. The Keyport Pivot is designed to be your all-in-one solution to minimizing your daily loadout to only the most essential of essentials. They may include integrated GPS tracking, expandable storage, integrated tools, wallet/card storage, or the option to add additional tools to your keys to turn it into a proper multi-tool as well as key holder. Some key cases include extra features.Durability and stylishness will vary from material to material-for example, leather will look much classier, but be far less sturdy than titanium or aircraft-grade aluminum. You’ll find cases in leather, carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and plastic. Key cases are made from a wide range of materials. They’re not exactly sized for janitors, security guards, or anyone who carries a key ring with dozens of keys, but they’re ideal to trim down your EDC loadout and keep all the keys you use daily neatly organized. Typically, anywhere between 3 and 8 ordinary keys will fit in a key case/holder, but some (as you’ll see below) can be expanded to hold more. Most key cases/organizers are built to carry a few keys.Hook up the keys to the key holder and start using the leather key pouch. This is how the key holder bracket looks like after it is installed.Do this on the mat to protect your cap from being damage. Place the concave side of the rivet setter on top of the assembly, hammer down to fasten them up. Depends on what type of tool you used to install the double caps rivet, I am using a simple handheld tool called rivet setter. Place the long post cap rivet though the hole. The hole size should follow the size the of the post of the rivet. Punch hole / holes with the hole puncher.Mark the bracket holes of the key holder on the top center of the middle part of the key pouch.Push the stud button through the bigger hole to close the pouch. Screw the round stud head tightly to the screwback to complete. Insert the screwback plate from the flesh side of the smaller hole. Punch holes on the Leather Key Pouch as indicated on the template.Īssemble the button stud onto the leather piece. Leather the edges with burnishing gum as well. I found that using fingers to apply the gum works too. Apply a small amount of the burnishing gum to the flesh side or edge of your leather spread evenly then firmly work into the leather with a smooth wooden dowel or piece of scrapper. Cut inside the lines so that the pen marks are not on the edge of the pouch. If you have a roller cutter, you may use it to cut the straight lines. Trace the paper template on the flesh side of the leather with ball pen.Ĭarefully cut out the leather piece with a pair of strong scissors. You will need to find the correct size of double cap rivet installation tool for the cap rivet that comes with the bracket. Remember to ask the seller for more detail about the product before purchasing, especially the dimension of the bracket and the size of the double cap rivet. You may use the normal rectangle bracket which is easier to find in the market, for eg, in Amazon. I used a round key holder bracket which is quite uncommon to find in the market.Gather all the materials and tools needed to make this leather key pouch.ĭownload the leather key pouch template and print it out on a card.Instructions HOW TO MAKE A LEATHER KEY POUCH
